This week, Northern Marianas treatment courts professionals attended the annual National Association of Drug Court Professionals RISE24 Conference in Anaheim, California. The conference brought together leaders in public health and public safety, working to expand treatment for substance use and mental health disorders. Nearly 8,000 professionals from the over 4,000 treatment courts nationwide gathered to exchange ideas on evidence-based treatment and recovery. Attendees included Justice Perry B. Inos, Judge Teresa K. Kim-Tenorio, members of the Drug Court and Mental Health Court Program, and representatives from the Public Defender's Office, Attorney General’s Office, Department of Corrections, Department of Public Safety, Substance Abuse Addictions & Rehabilitation, and Community Guidance Center. The training was funded by federal grants from the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
