Superior Court Welcomes New Judicial Staff

Saipan, CNMI The CNMI Superior Court is pleased to announce the swearing-in of four new judicial staff members: Sage Wagner, Alexandria Vazquez, Kate Rues, and Marlisa Marquez. The ceremony took place on November 19, 2025, in Superior Court Courtroom 205A, where each staff member took an oath of office.

Marlisa Marquez serves as Special Assistant to Presiding Judge Roberto C. Naraja. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas A&M University and previously worked as a Public Benefits case worker. She later earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was a student attorney for Michigan Law’s Civil Rights Litigation Initiative and externed at the United Nations Refugee Agency. 

 

Kate Rues clerks for Presiding Judge Roberto C. Naraja. She earned her bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Kansas. During law school, she worked in KU Law’s Legal Aid Clinic and interned for the Kansas Board of Indigents’ Defense Services. 

 

Alexandria Vazquez is a law clerk for Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Westmont College and her law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law. She previously worked as a surgery coordinator for two orthopedic surgeons in California. 

 

Sage Wagner serves as law clerk to Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Swarthmore College and her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law. During law school, she gained experience through the Marshall Brennan project, where she taught high school students constitutional law. 

 

The Superior Court welcomes these accomplished individuals and looks forward to their contributions to justice in the Commonwealth.
