Rota, CNMI – Power restoration efforts are underway at the Rota Centron Hustisia following the damage caused by Super Typhoon Sinlaku. During the typhoon, strong winds toppled a termite-infested power pole, which in turn pulled down the attached metal weatherhead pole servicing the building. The Centron Hustisia remains one of the last facilities on Rota to be connected to island power.
The Judiciary has retained a contractor to complete the necessary repairs. Work is currently in progress, and restoration is expected this week. The lack of electrical power has hindered court operations and limited the Judiciary’s ability to fully serve the public during this time.
“While the storm caused unexpected damage to our facility, we are actively working to ensure repairs are completed as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding during this time,” said Director of Courts Sonia A. Camacho. “We are optimistic that Rota Centron Hustisia will return to full operations by early next week and remain committed to providing timely and accessible judicial services to the people of Rota.”
