According to Nicole Waters—project lead and NCSC director of data, analytics, and forecasting—this year's honorees demonstrate a longstanding commitment to data reporting, along with meaningful new efforts to enhance the quality and transparency of publicly reported court data. The NMI Superior Court was recognized alongside the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Pennsylvania Superior Court for their data reporting accomplishments.

The CSP selected honorees based on several criteria, including the number and types of cases reported, the detail and quality of case characteristics and dispositions, improvements over previous years, sustained excellence in reporting, and overall support and investment in improving caseload data. The NCSC noted that the NMI Superior Court has made “notable strides in the publishability of data.” It highlighted that incoming case types increased from 67% to 98%, and outgoing and begin pending case reporting increased from 72% to 98%.

This award affirms our commitment to improving court operations and ensuring access to reliable and meaningful court data, one of the goals in the Judiciary’s Strategic Plan.”

Acting Superior Court Clerk of Court Novelyn Wania-Tenorio added, “Our team has worked hard to improve how we capture, review, and report case information. We are proud of the progress we have made and remain committed to sustaining these improvements in the years ahead.”
