New LRC Executive Director Appointed

NMI Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexandro C. Castro has appointed Carmen V. Borja, Esq., as the new Executive Director of the Commonwealth Law Revision Commission, effective April 19, 2024. In her role, Ms. Borja will oversee the codification of Commonwealth laws, administrative code, and administrative and judicial rules. Ms. Borja was the former LRC Staff Attorney before she was appointed Executive Director. Prior to joining LRC, she served as an Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General Criminal Division and as a law clerk for the NMI Supreme Court. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington Seattle. Ms. Borja brings a wealth of knowledge to her new position that will help bring LRC into a new era.
