Saipan, CNMI – Twenty-five 5th grade students from Mount Carmel School, accompanied by their teacher Ms. Zandra A. Tapay and chaperones, visited Guma’ Hustisia on Friday, October 3, 2025, for an educational tour aimed at deepening their understanding of the Commonwealth’s judicial system.
Led by Director of Courts Sonia A. Camacho, the students were guided through various divisions of the Judiciary, where they learned about the roles and responsibilities of court personnel and the processes that uphold justice in the CNMI.

A highlight of the visit was a special Kombetsasion held in the Supreme Court courtroom, where the students engaged in a lively question-and-answer session with Justice John A. Manglona and Justice Perry B. Inos. The justices shared their perspectives on the importance of the rule of law, the role of the courts in resolving conflicts, and their personal journeys in the legal profession. The students also had the opportunity to meet Judge Lillian A. Tenorio of the Superior Court.

“It’s always a privilege to engage with young minds and help them understand the importance of justice in the Commonwealth. Experiences like today’s tour help the students understand civic responsibility and gain a deeper appreciation for the justice system," said Director of Courts Sonia A. Camacho.
Ms. Tapay emphasized the value of the experience, stating, “The students and the school benefit greatly from a tour to Guma’ Hustisia in several ways. For the students, the visit provides a hands-on learning experience that deepens their understanding of justice, conflict resolution, and community engagement beyond textbooks.”
