NMI Judiciary Presents Preliminary Broadband Spending Plan

On July 14, 2023, the NMI Judiciary met with the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program ("BEAD Program"). The NMI government received over 80 million in federal funding to deploy broadband to unserved and underserved communities across the Commonwealth. The grant was designed to expand high-speed internet by funding broadband infrastructure deployment. The Judiciary held productive discussions about the BEAD Program with Federal Programs Officer Ethan Lake from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Glen Hunter from the NMI Broadband Policy and Development Office, and Frank Celis from the Department of Finance.
