In celebration of CNMI Drug Court and Mental Health Court Month, MHCD staff stand in the atrium with a display created by participants from Drug Court and Mental Health Court programs. The individualized boards represent the healthy skills, motivational phrases, and positive images that participants developed as a result of their participation in the programs (April 28,2023).

On April 24, 2023, Chief Justice Alexandro C. Castro visited Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Jr./Sr. High School and made a presentation on the Law Week theme, "Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration.” The Justices in the Classroom program is part of the Judiciary’s community outreach events leading up to Law Week. It provides an opportunity for students to interact directly with bench members.

National Treatment Court Month

In continuing celebration of Treatment Court Month, Drug Court Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio led the Drug Court team, partners, graduates, and participants on a hike to Landeran Tangke Trail on May 27, 2023. Bishop Ryan Jimenez graced the hikers with his participation and led the group in prayer before the hike.

In celebration of May as National Treatment Court Month, Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio and members of the Drug Court team presented on the Drug Court program to leaders of Rota, including Mayor Aubrey Hocog, as well as representatives from DPS, DFEMS, OPM, and the Rota Health Center.

Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio and the Drug Court team also presented to 7th and 11th grade students from Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Jr./Sr. High School. The team informed students about the negative effects of peer pressure and addiction and the existence of treatment courts around the nation.
